Parents always think that our children are special, but it’s been made so abundantly clear to us that there’s a world of people who think our Shannon is special, too. Your loving words of tribute have beautifully encapsulated and affirmed the Shannon we know and love. She’s a loving daughter, a loyal sister, a doting granddaughter, beloved niece and cousin to many, and the most faithful friend one could ever hope to find. We know how much it meant for her to participate in the lives of those she loved…weddings, baby parties, graduations, birthdays….name it, she was there because she loved us all.
We can’t begin to thank you all for your kindness and compassion, your thoughts and prayers, and for wrapping us all in your loving arms. We thank you all for your floral and fruit arrangements, your monetary donations, donations made to various charities in Shannon’s honor, for putting us up in your homes while in California, getting seats together on the plane, your loving phone calls and emails and beautiful cards, just to name a few. We have been overwhelmed by such sweet gestures and saying thank you in this manner seems so inadequate.
Please know that we have been reading your comments in the guest book and it really helps us to know that Shannon was really loved by so many people in her home away from home. The world is a better place because Shannon was in it and we know that she will be deeply missed by you, too.
Me ke aloha pumehana,
(With warmest love)
